Former FSU running back Dalvin Cook make his NFL debut Thursday night against the Buffalo Bills.

The Dalvin Cook era officially got underway for the Minnesota Vikings Thursday night as they took on the Buffalo Bills on turned out to be his 22nd birthday.

Minnesota wasted no time allowing their second round draftee to get some work in by giving him the rock on the first three plays from scrimmage.

Cook showed good power running inside, moving the pile for about a six yard gain on his first carry. The second carry went for a tough three yards as Cook broke a couple of arm tackles.

Then Cook converted the first down with his first reception that went for about six or seven yards.

Those plays can be seen below in case you were not able to watch the game live:

Here are two more passes as Sam Bradford loves to dump passes off to his running backs. There’s a legit chance Cook will have over 50 receptions his rookie year at this pace.

Thoughts

Dalvin Cook looked like he hasn’t missed a beat since trading in his FSU pads for Vikings pads. He ran with power and showed off his versatility in the passing game.

Cook had 10 touches overall for 44 yards before giving away to the second team offense. If the Vikings offensive line can open up holes and Bradford can make defenses respect the pass, Cook will have a great chance of being the NFL Rookie of the Year.

However, Minnesota’s offensive line didn’t look particularly impressive. Luckily for the Vikings, Cook is capable of turning nothing into something all on his own. Overall, a good debut for the former FSU superstar.
