FSU History of Dominating ACC

FSU football has dominated the ACC conference since joining in the early 90’s under the leadership of Bobby Bowden.

The ‘Noles have won the ACC Championship 15 times total, and three times in the Jimbo Fisher era. The program began to slip in the early 2000’s and didn’t win any ACC championships from 2006-10.

However, Jimbo Fisher quickly turned the program around after Bobby Bowden left him with a fairly bare cupboard.

He has gone 78-17, winning 82.1 percent of his games and has gone 5-2 in bowl games. It seems like media look at FSU as perennial contenders in the ACC now like it’s easy to do.

Certainly it’s easier to win at FSU than compared to if he was at Syracuse, but he shouldn’t be punished because the program has consistently been a winner prior to his arrival in Tallahassee.

If anything, he should be respected even more because it’s hard to stay at the top once you get there.
