This negative integer was Florida State’s turnover margin last season: the ‘Noles gave it up six more times than they took it away. This was the worst margin in the ACC, and the 104th in the country (FSU tied with the likes of UMass and Iowa).

Both fumbles and interceptions plagued the ‘Noles this year. The Seminoles lost 12 fumbles, the second-highest total in the ACC. And FSU served up 20 interceptions, the most of any ACC team and any team east of the Mississippi: only Idaho, Fresno State, UNLV, and New Mexico State tossed more picks last year, and Florida State simply isn’t going to be where it desires if it continues to make lists including programs of that ilk.

Of course, Winston is gone, and the battle to replace him should be interesting. The early money is on Sean Maguire, but John Franklin III, J.J. Cosentino, De’Andre Johnson, and Deondre Francois will all compete for the job as well.
