Florida State takes on Virginia Tech for Homecoming this Saturday at 7:30 PM EST on the ACC Network. The Seminoles have an overall record of 4-5 with remaining games of Virginia Tech, North Carolina State, and Florida.

The Seminole faithful are hopeful that Florida State can win out for the remainder of the year, as 7-5 could be a real possibility. Some individuals don't believe in head football coach Mike Norvell and his abilities in Year 6.

Unfortunately, that is the reality of the situation, as Doak Campbell Stadium won't be rocking as loudly. However, the hope is that the program can shift in a positive direction in a win column.

RUN, RUN, AND RUN SOME MORE

Florida State lost to Clemson by a score of 24-10 this past Saturday on the road. This is probably a contest that the Seminoles should have been more competitive in, but the self-inflicted wounds continued to haunt them.

There was a thought that Florida State would be able to run on Clemson, but they only recorded 110 yards (31 of those came from quarterback Thomas Castellanos). Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn was brought in this offseason because of his ability to have an identity on offense.

The coaching staff and fan base thought that redshirt sophomore running back Samuel Singleton Jr. would have taken advantage of the opportunity, but he only had six attempts for 28 yards.

Then, head football coach Mike Norvell mentioned sophomore Kam Davis and true freshman Ousmane Kromah to get elevated roles to end the season. This is a crowded backfield, where it looks like the coaches are playing "musical chairs" with the playmakers.

Davis hasn't played much this year, where he has had six carries for 43 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Some fans thought that he was eliminated from the game plan completely after all of his injuries. However, maybe the former four-star prospect is what the Seminoles need to be successful.
