Why FSU football should bounce back in a big way against Pittsburgh

Pitt Doesn't Have A Great Running Game

As mentioned, Pitt leans more towards the pass than the run, but they don’t have a great running game to start with. They only average 3.79 yards per rush and only have one guy (a freshman) with over 150 rushing yards through five games.

This means FSU can probably stop the run with a lighter box, dropping more guys in coverage to defend the pass. The problem for FSU in the UVA and Miami games is that they had to make a choice to try to take something away.

Against Pittsburgh, it doesn’t look like Pittsburgh is dynamic enough on offense to pose problems like that. They averaged 5.72 yards per play against a bad Boston College team last week. It was the first start for the freshman quarterback, and they scored 48 points. However, Boston College turned the ball over three times, and their defense might have quit at some point.

If FSU can open up an early lead and make Pittsburgh even more predictable with putting the ball in the air? That would be a perfect recipe to blow this team out.
