Florida State took care of business on Saturday, dismantling Kent State with a decisive 66-7 victory. Given the opponent, this should bring even more optimism to Tallahassee. This game had the makings of a potential let-down spot before entering ACC play, but the Seminoles came out firing, scoring 35 points in the first quarter to tie the school record.

They totaled 775 yards, outgaining the Golden Flashes by 569 yards, with several players turning in standout performances.

Micahi Danzy continues to show why he's a force to be reckoned with. The speedster hauled in two catches for 112 yards while scoring a 64-yard touchdown run on another end-around. It appears Florida State will continue scheming up plays to get the former running back in space, as nobody has yet to stop him.

Tommy Castellanos had another efficient day. The Boston College transfer completed 10 of his 13 pass attempts for 205 yards while tallying 54 yards and two touchdowns on the ground before leaving the game with an injury in the second quarter.

Recently removed from the Jordan Travis injury that prevented the Seminoles from making the College Football Playoff in 2023, this was a sight no Florida State fan wants to see.

Fortunately, it appears Castellanos will be just fine after he was seen jogging back to the sidelines during the third quarter. Castellanos reportedly suffered an ankle injury and did not return for the remainder of the game.

Gavin Sawchuk and Samuel Singleton Jr. also turned in huge performances on the ground to help the Florida State pile up nearly 500 rushing yards. The Seminoles have now passed last year's win mark four weeks into the season.

Florida State will travel to Charlottesville to take on the Virginia Cavaliers to begin ACC play this Friday.
