Florida State football is trying to have a bounce-back season after 2025's disappointing result, where they finished with a 5-7 record. Head coach Mike Norvell is trying to prove the doubters wrong once again, as the administration decided to bring him back for 2026.

Florida State has had six losing seasons in the past eight years, and it doesn't look like the same place that the legendary Bobby Bowden built. However, it should be noted that Coach Norvell is allowed to turn it around and get the Seminoles back on the right track.

The way that you do that is that acquire players to the roster via the transfer portal and high school recruiting ranks. Fans typically get caught up in the newcomers, but it is important to consider the returnees who understand how the schemes are.

Running back Ousmane Kromah could be making an impact in the rotation in 2026

Florida State wasn't afraid to play a large portion of the 2025 recruiting class. It is about time that the coaching staff doesn't heavily favor transfers if a high school recruit has better upside.

One of the more impressive pickups that Florida State had in the recruiting class was former four-star running back Ousmane Kromah. The Seminoles got him over the likes of schools such as Georgia and Auburn.

Fans know that it was a game of musical chairs when it comes to the running back position. The Georgia native only had two games of double-digit carries. It was frustrating to see since the thought was that Kromah would be a big part of the rotation.

The Florida State football social media team showed an impressive run by Kromah during a recent practice. This is something that the fan base wants to see more often from the running back. It is a bit concerning that the defense allowed a sizeable gain, but Kromah is a skilled talent.

Florida State added position coach Kam Martin to its staff this offseason after David Johnson moved on to Arkansas. With Coach Martin being in Tallahassee, we don't know how the running back rotation will be. It looks like Texas transfer Tre Wisner would be the starter, but Ousmane Kromah would make the staff think twice about the decision.
