Florida State football had an embarrassing 2-10 record this year. The Seminoles' fan base wanted to turn the page on a disastrous campaign. Even head football coach Mike Norvell stated that he was disappointed and was not the standard of this proud university.
This is going to be a massive 2025 season for the Seminoles. Some suggest that Norvell could be a dead man walking with his job security. While I am not of that opinion, I think that Florida State needs to make some noise in the national landscape in terms of getting back to 7/8 wins.
The ACC made a grand opening by releasing its conference schedule on TV for two hours. I know that I have to be invested since Florida State is still of the conference, but I quite frankly don't care for the meaningless show. I just want them to drop the schedule in a graphic on social media and be done.
Nonetheless, the ACC is doing that once again as they announce Week 0 and Week 1 games on January 23rd (the Seminoles know that they face Alabama in Week 1 and don't have a Week 0 game). Then, they drop the ACC opener for all 17 conference teams on Friday, January 24th, at 4 PM EST.
I wonder if they place the ACC opener between East Texas A&M and Kent State on September 13th. Or will they give Florida State a bye week and also almost guarantee a 2-1 start at worst if the program loses to Alabama?
The ACC will have its 2025 schedule release show on Monday, January 27th, 9 PM-11 PM EST on the ACC Network and ESPN2.
We know that the Seminoles will have road games against Clemson, NC State, Stanford, and Virginia. Then, the home games will be against Miami, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
I would much rather play Clemson and NC State earlier in the year. Those environments have been difficult to play for the Seminoles, especially the Wolfpack even when the program was very good.
I would also love the idea of seeing teams such as Stanford, Virginia, and Wake Forest earlier in the year to give the Seminoles momentum. Nonetheless, I hope that the conference does not have a stretch run of Clemson, NC State, and Miami close together.
I don't think the fan base will book their hotels in Charlotte for the conference championship game after the schedule release, but this team should be vastly better than the 2024 version.
