Florida State football had a disappointing 2024 season that led to a 2-10 record. These are not the results that individuals associated with the program want to see. Head football coach Mike Norvell expressed frustration with the results and went to work this offseason.
There have been new coaches added to the staff, and he acquired new players on the roster via the recruiting ranks and transfer portal. Norvell knew that the Seminoles were used to being in contention for conference and national championships.
The offseason will feel like an eternity for the fan base as Florida State will not be having its Spring Showcase in April due to stadium renovations at Doak Campbell Stadium. It looks like the general public will be in limbo with how the Seminoles look until August.
Florida State will have the tall task of taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. The Crimson Tide are coming off a horrific bowl loss to Michigan after being left out of the College Football Playoff (how does it feel?) in favor of a two-loss SMU team.
Nonetheless, the Seminoles are looking to get revenge against Alabama for that dreaded December day when the College Football Playoff committee left an undefeated Florida State team out of the "invitational". Let's not forget that Alabama was in contention of landing head football coach Mike Norvell in the last offseason.
I know that it is super early, but FanDuel Sportsbook dropped some of the game lines for the beginning of the 2025 season. They have Florida State as 7.5-point home underdogs to the Alabama Crimson Tide on August 30th.
It will be exciting to see this Seminoles' team back in action with so many new pieces. Plus, Alabama will likely be playing a new quarterback with Jalen Milroe moving on from the program. Nonetheless, I want to see Florida State compete at a high level.
