It looks like Squirrel White is healthy, and a healthy Squirrel White can be a difference maker on offense.
White was one of the Seminoles' more intriguing recruitments out of the transfer portal this past winter. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder was dynamic as a sophomore at Tennessee before dealing with injuries in his junior season. Now White is in Tallahassee with something to prove.. FSU is banking on him being healthy in 2025. So far that is looking like a smart gamble.
"Yeah, you can see the confidence he's playing with. I don't think anything's holding him back from the previous injury," MikeNorvell said during his post-scrimmage press conference. "He's definitely playing fast and put that on display tonight. I like his attitude and mindset. He's making plays when he gets those opportunities."
When Norvell talks about White getting his opportunities, you can almost see his mind working. With White they know he can get down the field. They want to be able to put him in situations where Thomas Castellanos can simply launch him the football. But White can also play in space and create things on the perimeter.

Touches are limited in this offense. Let's say FSU averages 65 plays on offense and Gus Malzahn wants to run the ball 65 percent of the time. So that's 43 run plays. That leaves about 20-22 plays for the receivers. So the touches have to be quality. It isn't just about getting the ball in White's hands, it's getting him the ball in situations for him to make plays.
If White is healthy, he brings so much to the offense. He can fly. He is tough. He can play in space. Just get the ball in his hands and watch him go to work.

Through two weeks in camp, we're starting to see guys emerge, and we're finding out who the real dudes are. Obviously, Duce Robinson is a dude. Osumane Kromah is definitely a dude. Jayvan Boggs is a dude. And a healthy Squirrel White is a dude.
The more these dudes see the football, the more success the Seminoles offense will be this season.
