SEC guy thinks Florida State baseball has an easy path to College World Series and selection committee was anti-SEC

Is he right? He's definitely wrong on one

Florida State baseball fans learned the national seeding of the Noles earlier Monday. FSU earned the No. 10 national seed and is paired with the No. 7-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide. The loss to Pittsburgh cost Florida State a shot at earning that top-8 seed and securing home-field advantage through Super Regionals.

However, Alabama isn’t too crazy of a drive for dedicated Florida State fans. It’s certainly closer than Oregon last year, and what some sites projected before the national seeding were released. Is it a murderer’s row, Tallahassee regional? Absolutely not, but does Florida State have an easy path to the College World Series?

One SEC believes that’s the case:

Florida State should make some noise if they don't beat themselves and get good starting pitching.

First of all, the Tallahassee Regional has an average RPI of 54, which is among the top five highest among the 16 national seeds. Florida State will play at home, which is a major advantage. They will also enjoy a substantial pitching advantage. The offenses of all of the teams in the Tallahassee Regional are similar.

Florida State has more home runs than the other three teams, and Florida State wasn’t a big power team. That’s another advantage for the Noles. However, Florida State will have to travel to Tuscaloosa if the seeds hold, and Alabama was a top-eight national seed. I will admit, Alabama IS a good matchup for the Noles. The Crimson Tide isn’t a great offensive team, and they don’t hit for much power. However, they do have a good pitching staff.

If the seeds hold, Florida State travels to Tuscaloosa. Alabama is 23-6 at home, and Florida State was 10-9 on the road and 1-4 in neutral-site games.

That series will come down to if the Florida State offense shows up or not. If it plays like it did in the ACC Tournament, they might not make it out of the Tallahassee Regional. If the offense plays like it did over the last 2-3 weeks of the regular-season? Florida State could very well make it back to the College World Series.

The other point about the selection committee being anti-SEC is a crock of you know what. Kentucky got into the tournament for crying out loud. Also, the SEC got 12 teams in overall and five of the eight national seeds.

I think we should have learned from last year's postseason that there isn't that big of a gap between the SEC and other top programs.
