Florida State's 2027 recruiting class is in the good graces of the fan base at this moment in time. The Seminoles landed four-star running back Jayden Miles, four-star linebacker Jernard Albright, three-star defensive lineman Eric Vaulx Jr., and now four-star wide receiver Sean Green.

The Seminoles have had plenty of good news to go around, but the recruiting class is not perfect. Florida State lost its top commit recently, as four-star defensive back Mekhi Williams elected to flip and pledge to Wisconsin. The Badgers haven't exactly been a model of consistency, with their head coach, Luke Fickell, on the hot seat.

This made the fan base wonder what Coach Norvell was doing with being in charge of Florida State. They had to battle Mekhi Williams away from Miami, LSU, and Wisconsin when he was still committed to the Seminoles, so it was a valid question to wonder if he was worth fighting for.

Florida State quarterback Logan Flaherty was on campus this weekend to help out with the Seminoles' recruiting efforts for the 2027 class. They had plenty of uncommitted prospects to put the recruiting hat on for, such as four-star linebacker Jernard Albright (committed), four-star wide receiver Sean Green (committed), three-star running back Marquis Fennell (looks like Florida State leads), and three-star defensive lineman Jason Lewis (trending Florida State).

The recruiting race doesn't seem to be over for Florida State with four-star linebacker commit Gregory Batson

It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for Florida State, as they had four-star linebacker commit Gregory Batson from Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia, on an official visit this past weekend.

College football programs have to continue recruiting year-round (recruits, transfers, and even current players on the roster). There was a threat that Batson was going to officially visit Mississippi State this upcoming season. While the Bulldogs aren't that much of an intimidating program, money talks in today's NIL landscape of college football.

The Seminoles could really use a talent such as Batson, who has been committed to Florida State since November of last year. Assistant coach Ernie Sims grabbed former four-star prospect Izayia Williams in last year's cycle, and the Seminoles are stoked of what he can be as a player, but the program needs to continue stacking talent together at all positions.

Batson went to social media on Monday and told the world that his recruitment is still open.

This should not be viewed as a positive for the Seminoles or that he is just "enjoying the recruitment process". Florida State has had its fair share of linebacker prospects who have gone elsewhere. It still burns me up to this day that the Seminoles never got the chance to sign Wesley Bissainthe, who ended up going to the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes.

During his junior season at Lee County High School, Batson had a productive campaign with 55 tackles (six for loss), one sack, one interception, and one fumble recovery (according to MaxPreps). Florida State needs current running back Ousmane Kromah (his former teammate at Lee County High School) to get in his ear and speak highly of the Seminoles and seal the deal.
