Florida State's 2027 recruiting class has been something that the fan base used to raise concern about, but the Seminoles have been on a hot streak lately, where they grabbed four-star running back Jayden Miles and four-star linebacker Jernard Albright.

While rankings aren't the end of the world, the fan base saw that Florida State was basically in the "see more" category, and that isn't where you want to be. If this were Florida Atlantic, then a pass could be given. However, high school recruiting needs to be a top priority.

The Seminoles were trying to make the most out of the opportunity this weekend with several highly-touted prospects in town. It was so serious that quarterback commit Logan Flaherty elected to come to Tallahassee for his official visit and help the program out. Obviously, the signal-callers are some of the more important prospects in the class because everyone leans on them for guidance.

Flaherty spent plenty of his time with a variety of recruits this weekend, but he made sure to make a great impression on a certain wide receiver that he was eyeing: Sean Green. The dynamic duo was seen taking pictures together in the all-white uniform combination during the photo shoot. Typically, the all-white uniforms signify a commitment could be brewing.

Mike Norvell and Florida State land talented 4-star pass catcher Sean Green from the state of Georgia on Tuesday

Florida State fans saw on Tuesday afternoon that four-star wide receiver target Sean Green from Camden County High School in Kingsland, Georgia, made it official and committed to the Seminoles.

The more impressive part of all this is that Florida State's Mike Norvell went toe-to-toe with Georgia's Kirby Smart in the recruitment. This should happen more often in Tallahassee, but the losing woes have hindered Florida State's success. Get in the locker, Kirby! Mike Norvell is not messing around!

There were people out there who would call Florida State "three-star U," and it makes sense since the Seminoles have had trouble winning on the football field. It is difficult to get those four and five-star prospects to say yes to the program. However, the relationship aspect played out in the end for Green.

Head coach Mike Norvell is firmly on many hot-seat lists to start the season, and this impacts high school recruiting because how can you pledge to Florida State and not know if Norvell will be there in 2027? The administration gave him the boost of confidence by retaining him this upcoming year, but what happens if the three-game stretch of Louisville, Miami, and Clemson goes horribly wrong?

Florida State had to be confident in itself for the 2026 season. If they didn't, then there would be no way that they landed Green in this recruiting class. There should be props given to wide receivers coach Tim Harris Jr. for his recruiting efforts.

Harris Jr. landed six talented pass catchers in the 2026 class with Jasen Lopez, Devin Carter, EJ White, Jonah Winston, Brandon Bennett, and Darryon Williams. The job isn't finished with just acquiring Green, but it is a great head start to an already strong summer for Florida State.
