Players will have an opportunity to get paid for opting into NCAA 25 video game
According to a report from On3's Pete Nakos, college football players have a chance to opt-in to have their name, image, and likeness that will be used in the NCAA 25 video game.
The video game series is anticipated to be back this summer after it had been discontinued since NCAA 14. A full reveal of the game will be dropping in May.
According to a report from ESPN, every athlete who decides to opt into the game will receive $600 plus a copy of the game. This is great for the players as they allow themselves to be marketed positively.
While the game will only feature the 85-man scholarship players, it is still amazing to see those individuals get represented. The biggest hold up with everything was the players not being properly compensated (or at least compensated at all) for being included in the game.
I realize that most of the players just wanted the series back. However, I believe that this is a start to ensure that these individuals are somewhat taken care of.
It will be great to see Florida State football fans experience everything the game has to offer from the rowdy Doak Campbell Stadium filled with thousands of screaming fans doing the Warchant, recruiting their own prospects, and even playing with newer players such as quarterback DJ Uiagalelei.
It has been a long time coming for college football fans across the country as the video game series kept us entertained as we navigated during the offseason. However, it looks like we won't be waiting too much longer for the series to return.
As it relates to Florida State in the video game, even with the loss of players from a season ago, head football coach Mike Norvell and company have constructed a solid team in Tallahassee to remain competitive within the college football landscape.
