FSU true freshman running back graduates from high school
Florida State had a solid 2024 recruiting class filled with several highly-touted prospects. The coaching staff set the foundation for the Seminoles' football program for years to come.
Florida State is regarded as one of the premier transfer portal destinations in the country. Some individuals think the Seminoles can only secure transfers via the portal. However, they have made their presence known on the recruiting trail.
One of the many prospects that the Seminoles' fan base is excited about is running back Kameron Davis from Dougherty High School in Albany, Georgia. The former four-star prospect decided to early enroll at Florida State.
The Seminoles had to replace the likes of the ultra-talented rusher Trey Benson, who recorded 1,800 yards and 23 touchdowns during his two seasons with Florida State. Benson made his lifelong dream come true as he was selected in the third round by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The former Oregon transfer defied the odds after suffering a major injury. Many Seminole fans were nervous that Benson could not bounce back after dealing with the setback. However, the running back was a consistent piece in the offense where he was the home-run threat.
Florida State is going to need some contributors to emerge with Benson heading to the NFL. The Seminoles added Alabama's Roydell Williams and Indiana's Jaylin Lucas via the transfer portal. Running backs coach David Johnson also secured two four-star prospects at the position in Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy.
On Saturday, the talented back posted a picture on social media of him graduating from Dougherty High School.
Davis looks the part with his frame. He looks like he has been with the program and working under strength and conditioning coach Josh Storms for years now. Some Seminole fans feel like he can have meaningful reps during his true freshman campaign. Now that he has graduated high school, he can focus on the great task at hand: Being the next great back at Florida State.
