FSU offensive starting lineup projection versus Georgia Tech (via Taylor Devers)
TIGHT ENDS
1. Kyle Morlock
2. Jackson West
3. Landen Thomas
-OR- Amaree Williams
Analysis: The tight end position has always been a unit that head football coach Mike Norvell has been excited about. The Seminoles will have to replace the likes of Jaheim Bell, who is off to the NFL. However, Florida State brings back veteran Kyle Morlock who had over 200 yards last season.
The tight end position is very versatile in Norvell's offense where they line up in the backfield, as in-line blockers and receiving options, on the outside, and even in the slot. The position itself might be boring to fans and some individuals might even think that we have too many, but tight ends are important too.
Jackson West emerged late during the 2023 season as a viable blocker in the offense. I wonder if he can be an effective receiving option for the team. Then you have talented true freshmen such as Landen Thomas and Amaree Williams (early enrollee that switched from defensive end) who have flashed during camp.
I also believe that veteran Brian Courtney will contribute (even though he isn't listed on the projected depth chart) in special teams and short yardage/goal line.
