No. 2 California

California has gone 10-15 over the past two seasons and got smacked by every good football team they faced last year. They went 14 consecutive years with a losing record in the Pac-12. DJ Uiagalelei's Oregon State offense dropped 52 points on the Bears last year. California will travel all the way across the country to play in front of a sellout crowd during Family Weekend at FSU. The Bears will have a new offensive coordinator and a couple of decent players on offense. Their biggest issue last year was turnovers and getting torched on defense. FSU will be too talented and will likely make the California offense one-dimensional early, which is a recipe for another blowout loss.

No. 1 Charleston Southern

Charleston Southern is the team you put on your schedule before playing your rivals in the regular-season finale. The two teams last linked in 2016, with FSU winning 52-8. The biggest storyline from that game was Derwin James getting hurt and missing the remainder of the season. This game will be as close to a 100 percent win share as possible.

Final Thoughts

I'll post my annual win-shares piece (you can find last year's here) as we get closer to the Georgia Tech kickoff. Be on the lookout for my toughest games, most overrated teams, and other pieces as we approach the season!
