Parting Thoughts

Overall, the offense isn't far off. I've written it's time to move on from DJ Uiagalelei. If Mike Norvell doesn't do that for the Memphis game, it's likely because he believes he's not ready. We have to remember that Brock Glenn missed a lot of last season and most of spring camp with injuries. That time missed cost him lots of valuable practice reps. Luke Kromenhoek hasn't been around long enough to put him out there without ruining him. The offensive line hasn't been perfect, but it's been good enough, especially in pass protection. Better quarterback play would make a world of difference for this offense. It would help if the receivers caught the ball more often too.

I don't have high hopes of DJ Uiagalelei improving because his mechanics look awful, and he has confidence issues. However, I'm willing to bet if the offense showed any semblance of life, the defense would at least give more effort. The defense has its issues, but it's disheartening when the offense doesn't get a first down until well in the second quarter against Boston College. Boston College running nearly 30 plays to FSU's six plays in the first quarter plays a part in a collapse in the second half because they're gassed. If the offense can execute better and make better decisions, it would be a game-changer for this FSU team.
