FSU football: Head coach Mike Norvell addresses team after loss to Georgia Tech
Florida State football lost to Georgia Tech by a score of 24-21 in their season opener in Dublin, Ireland. This team has heard about the loss across the college football landscape.
It was a brutal loss in a candid assessment.
We at ChopChat have stated things that have gone wrong. We even mentioned aspects that were positive to lighten up the mood a little.
On Tuesday, Florida State football's social media dropped their cinematic recap from the Georgia Tech game. The video team complies together moments from the game and post-game contest that many fans don't get the opportunity to see in-person.
Most individuals are excited to see them, especially after victories. However, with the Georgia Tech loss being one that most want to forget, the video's mood was sometimes depressing.
Here is the full video in case you have not watched it:
Florida State did not play up to its potential on Saturday versus Georgia Tech. This was a Seminoles team that was projected to win the conference. Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets were only projected to win 4.5 games in 2024.
While it is an uphill battle from here considering that Florida State lost a conference game, the mission is simple: Control what you can control, and win football games. The Seminoles still have to play conference opponents such as SMU, Clemson, and Miami, among others to make the conference championship game.
Norvell addressed accountability on his end with the post-game speech to the team after the loss to Georgia Tech where he stated the following: "That all comes down to me. That's my fault."
I am confident in Norvell and this football team to make proper adjustments. Am I disappointed with how things transpired? Heck yes. Do I believe this is still a good football team? Most certainly.
This is a big moment for him and his squad as they respond in the face of adversity. It is easy to stay calm when things are smooth. What will Florida State do now that they have been punched in the mouth?
Will they get up off the mat? I guess we will have to find out as the Seminoles take on the Boston College Eagles on Labor Day night in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium.
