DJ Uiagalelei

I've seen a lot of folks give DJ Uiagalelei blame for the loss, but it wasn't on him at all. I believe he would have given FSU a chance to win the game had the defense gotten off the field on Georgia Tech's final possession. Uiagalelei went 19 of 27 for 193 yards. That's a 70 percent completion percentage. Uiagalelei's low completion percentage for his career was something fans complained about when he came to FSU. Did he make every throw? No. Did he miss some open guys? Absolutely, but I don't think Mike Norvell gave him a real shot to do damage with his arm until it was too late.

Most passes in the first half were short or screen passes to the running backs. I wrote about how FSU needs to throw more on first down because they had great success on those downs. I also think they need to push the ball down the field more often because what's the sense of having elite speed if you don't use it? I know FSU wants to establish the run, but it may have to throw it and execute successfully enough to make teams respect their passing game to establish the run.
