FSU football: 3 underrated offensive weapons for the Seminoles in 2024
TE AMAREE WILLIAMS
Florida State was able to land Class of 2025 five-star athlete Amaree Williams from the Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida. He later reclassified to the 2024 cycle.
The coaching staff liked his skill set as a defensive end. However, Williams played on both sides of the football during his high school career. He was a raw prospect considering that he was only 17 years old and having to get adjusted to the collegiate game.
However, the Seminoles liked what they saw from the 6'4", 219-pound playmaker. With the depth at the defensive end position crowded and it being difficult for a 17-year-old to be physically ready to go against players who were bigger and stronger, the coaching staff elected to move him to tight end.
Mike Norvell raved about Amaree Williams in media sessions where he talked about his recent improvement after the position change. Veteran Kyle Morlock will be the starting tight end in 2024, but who will be the tight end that emerges alongside him?
I believe a candidate could be Williams if he continues to develop.
