FSU football will host its first scrimmage on Saturday night under the lights at Doak Campbell Stadium. It'll be a situational scrimmage, meaning the team will work on aspects like short-yardage situations, goal lines, and other things. So it won't be a traditional scrimmage with two teams playing an actual game. That won't happen until the final scrimmage in camp. However, this situational scrimmage will be an important development for players beginning to solidify themselves on the depth chart. The scrimmage will be closed to the public, but Mike Norvell is usually candid with how things go when speaking with the media afterward. Here are three things to look out for when the scrimmage is over.

No. 1 Quarterbacks

How did DJ Uiagalelei (and Brock Glenn to a lesser degree) perform? Did they make the right checks at the line of scrimmage? Did they make good decisions post-snap? Did they protect the football and not turn it over? Did they have a good rapport with the receivers, tight ends, and running backs in the passing game? I think FSU will have a good running game, but the degree to which they can be successful through the air will determine how far this offense goes in 2024.
