FSU football: 3 positives from Florida State's matchup versus Boston College
ELEVATED PLAY OF WR KENTRON POITIER
The wide receiver position was a question mark still going into the Boston College contest. The Seminoles had to replace playmakers such as Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman, who navigated to the NFL.
I realize that you cannot just snap your finger and replace both of those wide receivers. The Seminoles brought in transfers such as Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown this offseason. Both were expected to be contributors this season.
In the season opener versus Georgia Tech, we saw slot veteran wide receiver Ja'Khi Douglas emerge as a viable playmaker in the offense. The offense struggled to move the football under the leadership of the quarterback DJ Uiagalelei.
On Monday night versus Boston College, senior wide receiver Kentron Poitier became a threat in the passing game where he recorded four receptions for 79 yards and one touchdown. The Florida native is his last opportunity to prove his worth and the touchdown where he broke off a defender's tackle and shook another defensive player to score.
Could he build upon the moment for the rest of the season?
