Florida State's offense will look different in 2024 as they are having to replace pieces such as Jordan Travis, Trey Benson, Johnny Wilson, Keon Coleman, Jaheim Bell, D'Mitri Emmanuel, and Casey Roddick.

That is seven offensive starters on the team from 2023. However, that is the new landscape in college football where teams have to constantly prepare themselves for players transferring, graduating, and going to the NFL.

As it relates to the 2024 campaign, the Seminoles' coaching staff added transfer pieces such as quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, running backs Jaylin Lucas and Roydell Williams, wide receivers Malik Benson and Jalen Brown, and offensive linemen TJ Ferguson, Richie Leonard IV, and Jacob Rizy.

One of the biggest concerns of the offseason for Florida State has been the play of their wide receivers. Losing Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson has been massive for this offense, especially considering that both are big-bodied difference-makers.

It has been well-documented that Alabama's Malik Benson will be the number one option in the offense. However, who will emerge behind them? We discussed some candidates such as Ja'Khi Douglas, Hykeem Williams, Elijah Moore, and Lawayne McCoy.

I am a big fan of all of these players, but could true freshmen Moore and McCoy step in right away? I am looking at the veteran playmakers with something to prove such as Kentron Poitier, Darion Williamson, and Deuce Spann.

The Seminoles' coaching staff will likely need at least one or two of them to step up. They all have to since this is their last opportunity to make their presence known in Tallahassee since they are seniors. Unfortunately, all of them have either dealt with inconsistencies or injuries (or both).

While I think that Poitier is likely the best candidate to emerge in this spot, Williamson and Spann can make some waves as well. I believe that getting one of these veteran playmakers to step up in the early portion of the season will give the youngsters time to get acclimated to the collegiate game as the schedule gets harder in the back half of the season with Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame, and Florida.

Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans should be able to squeeze every ounce of what these veteran pass catchers can bring to the table and have a memorable final season. Dugans seems to always get the most out of his position group.
