BetOnlineAG released odds for the Noles to make the 12-team CFP in 2024
FSU football unfortunately did not make the 4-team College Football Playoff "invitational" after the committee elected to leave out an undefeated ACC-champion Florida State over a one-loss SEC-champion Alabama. Most individuals that felt the Seminoles did not deserve to be in due to the injury of quarterback Jordan Travis.
Some individuals even tried to state that the Seminoles always had next season where the College Football Playoff would be expanded to 12 teams. However, as most fans realize, the Seminoles' football team was filled with NFL talent regardless of what the Orange Bowl loss to Georgia looked like.
Overall, we still have a way before we arrive at the 2024 season. Florida State's coaching staff decided to add fifteen transfers to the squad this offseason. While there are not many notable from a season ago, the Seminoles are still looking to prove the doubters wrong.
According to BetOnlineAG, Florida State currently has -250 odds (risk $100 to win $40) to make the 2024 12-team College Football Playoff. As we mentioned in a previous article, the Seminoles possess a 9.5 over/under win total for the campaign. They have enjoyed many successes over the past two years where Florida State has a combined 23-4 record.
Here are the teams that are listed above Florida State in terms of odds:
-Georgia: -900
-Ohio State: -900
-Texas: -500
-Oregon: -450
Clemson: -250 (tied)
Overall, Florida State will likely be ranked around 12-15 to start the season. I feel as though they should be the top overall team in the ACC. The Clemson Tigers finished the 2023 season with a 9-4 overall record as well as a 4-4 conference record. While the program has reached championship-level heights, it is worth mentioning that they have not met their lofty expectations over the past few seasons.
There is justification as to why you should invest in Florida State as an ascending football program. If the Seminoles can find a way to three of their five games versus Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, and Florida then they should have a solid chance to fulfill those odds.
