4-star UCF DB commit will be taking an official visit to the Noles this weekend
Florida State football only has four commitments in its 2025 recruiting class with five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, and four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard.
The program has not secured a pledge since Hilson flipped his commitment from Alabama to Florida State back in January. As a result, the Seminoles' fan base is starving for some good recruiting news. As last mentioned, four-star cornerback Onis Konanbanny was the only prospect to visit this past weekend.
However, this recruiting weekend will consist of several highly-touted prospects such as four-star defensive end Zion Grady, four-star running back Ousmane Kromah, four-star safeties Ladarian Clardy and Bryce Fitzgerald, four-star offensive lineman Max Buchanan, four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard (FSU commit), three-star tight end Chase Loftin, and three-star safety Max Redmon.
With that is a huge official visitor list compared to last week, I want to talk about one prospect in particular with four-star cornerback Tony Williams from Palm Beach Central High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. He announced on social media that he will be taking the trip down to Tallahassee this weekend.
This could be an interesting development to pay close attention to since Williams is currently committed to the UCF Knights. He has only been pledged with the program since March. However, it is interesting that he is willing to give the Seminoles a fair shot.
Defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has continued to showcase his recruiting ability on the trail for Florida State thus far. He has built several connections within the state of Florida. It helps that Surtain Sr. used to be the head football coach at powerhouse American Heritage High School.
While Williams is set to officially visit the UCF Knights the following week after his official visit with the Seminoles, I expect Florida State to make the recruitment interesting and something to think about for the talented defensive back.
