True freshman DB Charles Lester III is putting his recruiting hat on for the Noles
Florida State football had one official visitor from the 2025 recruiting cycle on campus this past weekend. It was four-star cornerback target Onis Konanbanny from Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, South Carolina.
The visit seemed to be productive for the Seminoles as they looked to get Konanbanny to commit to the program. They started out with a FaceTime call with former Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey during the visit.
Most recruits would love to get a FaceTime call from Ramsey. He has been such a productive face in the professional football ranks. You know that Florida State football is getting back to national prominence when Jalen Ramsey is recruiting for the program.
As it pertains to the 2025 recruiting cycle, the Seminoles do not have any defensive back prospects committed in the fold at this time. However, fans should not worry too much as defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has showcased his recruiting prowess when it comes to getting talent to come to Tallahassee.
During the 2024 recruiting cycle, I know individuals want to hyperfocus on losing five-star safety KJ Bolden to Georgia (Bolden is a great talent) but Surtain Sr. did get Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard, Cai Bates, and Ricky Knight III.
Speaking of Lester III, he was a player host for Konanbanny's visit which I think is great because the true freshman can give him his experience of starting and getting adjusted to a collegiate program.
It is also cool that Lester III got to take photos with Konanbanny in the N7 turquoise jerseys which I am sure that the Seminoles will debut during the 2024 season at some point (likely versus Charleston Southern).
Florida State's coaching staff went all in on the official visit with Konanbanny. I am interested to see if the trip and investment will pay off with him having upcoming official visits to North Carolina, Penn State, and Tennessee. Regardless, I believe that the Seminoles put their best foot forward in the recruitment.
