CORNERBACK JARRIAN JONES

Head football coach Mike Norvell always preaches the term "response" to his football players. It might sound cliche, but it teaches them to battle through trials and tribulations in life.

This cannot be more true for a player such as defensive back Jarrian Jones. Many Florida State fans underestimated his ability to be a good collegiate defender. Coming over from Mississippi State with defensive tackle Fabien Lovett Sr., Jones dealt with a multitude of injuries and inconsistencies.

It seemed like every offseason, he was dealing with an injury that impacted the beginning of his campaign. However, he began to blossom with age and maturity, Jones started to find his niche in the rotation.

The veteran cornerback was a staple on the outside alongside Renardo Green. During the 2023 season, he had 25 total tackles and three interceptions (led the team in interceptions). Opposing quarterbacks would avoid throwing it to his side of the football field. There isn't a player on Florida State's roster that has more of a chip on his shoulder than Jones and I love it.
