3 candidates to be Florida State football's next 2025 commitment
FOUR-STAR CB/S GREGORY THOMAS
Florida State has seen the benefits of hiring Patrick Surtain Sr. as their defensive backs coach. Surtain Sr. has seen members in the defensive backfield take the next step in their developments and has recruited well on the recruiting trail.
While I know it stings to think about the fact that the Seminoles did not get five-star safety prospect KJ Bolden (who signed with the Georgia Bulldogs), they were still able to get Charles Lester III, Ricky Knight III, Jamari Howard, and Cai Bates in the 2024 recruiting class.
While the program has still not secured any defensive backs in the 2025 recruiting cycle, they could be primed to get one soon. This prospect is four-star cornerback/safety Gregory Thomas from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida.
Surtain Sr. used to be the head football coach at American Heritage High School. Thomas has a deep relationship with the defensive backs coach. He has taken several unofficial visits with the program and has scheduled an official visit with the Seminoles during the loaded June 21st weekend.
It is worrisome to think that the Clemson Tigers are still in the background of his recruitment. However, it is helpful that the Seminoles still get the last laugh in the official visit schedule.
