Florida State baseball is far from a finished product, as the Seminoles have been inconsistent throughout the year. However, head coach Link Jarrett looked to find its rhythm against The Citadel in a home series.
It is great to see a packed-out Dick Howser Stadium. It is even better when Florida State finishes off a series sweep in front of the home crowd, as the Seminoles defeated The Citadel on Sunday by a score of 2-0.
There could be gripes that fans could make about the Seminoles' offensive output (which is concerning), but the pitching staff had a very nice series that has the Florida State faithful thinking about getting back to Omaha.
Pitcher Bryson Moore was impressive on Sunday against The Citadel
Florida State knew what it had in its ace Wes Mendes, but the fan base wanted to see how the rest of the starting rotation played out. Coach Jarrett decided to put Virginia transfer Bryson Moore on the mound for Sunday's contest, and he didn't disappoint.
Moore had a career day, where he pitched six innings with only one hit and five strikeouts.
A fantastic Sunday start for Bryson Moore 🔥

If Florida State wants to have success in the postseason, the pitching staff needs to step up in a big way. The one concern right now about the Seminoles is the lack of hitting. The team only had 10 runs in three games against the Bulldogs.
The offense is too talented to strand as many runners on base. The Seminoles do not have one of the better power hitters in all of college baseball with Myles Bailey. Head coach Link Jarrett expressed his concerns about the bats after seeing his players not swinging at pitches.
With that said, the offense should be able to eventually gel together. However, the pitching staff should be extremely confident in itself. Florida State shouldn't have many other games where it scores two or three runs.
Florida State will be taking on Jacksonville on Tuesday, March 3rd, in Tallahassee at 5:00 PM EST.
