The running back will be a big part of the Florida State offense in 2026, even though Gus Malzahn is no longer the offensive coordinator. Mike Norvell wants to establish the running game to set up explosive passing plays.
It’s why many folk are still high on sophomore running back Ousmane Kromah for the 2026 season. FSU added a transfer running back from Texas, Tre Wisner. However, Kromah will likely have a large role in the running game, especially if he continues to break off runs like this one he had in Saturday’s practice:

He wears the same number as former Nole standout running back James Wilder Jr., but I couldn’t help but have flashbacks to the run Wilder had against Clemson in the 2012 game:
FSU needs to get the ball in Kromah's hands for at least 100 rushing attempts in 2026.
Ironically, Kromah’s numbers are similar to what Wilder put up while at FSU. Kromah rushed for 408 yards on 72 attempts last season, but seemed to get lost in the shuffle with FSU using multiple running backs each game. Mike Norvell's offenses have typically featured one guy who gets the bulk of the carries and a couple of guys in reserve roles. FSU has Wisner, Kromah, and Sam Singleton Jr. as the trio with the most experience.
If I had to guess, the lead running back will fluctuate between Wisner and Kromah, with Singleton being more of a change-of-pace guy with his speed.
It's good t see Kromah move like this at practice and he looks like he might have gotten a tad faster since last year. If he can give FSU what James Wilder Jr. did while he was at FSU or better? FSU will have a solid rushing attack in 2026.
