Mike Norvell and company cannot allow Mario Cristobal to grab this transfer QB

This could be an excellent pickup for Miami if they land him.

Florida State football has had four losing seasons in six years under the guidance of head football coach Mike Norvell. This is a tough pill to swallow for a fan base that is starving for success.

The biggest obstacle that the fan base will have to navigate through this offseason is the quarterback position. The Seminoles have acquired transfers DJ Uiagalelei and Thomas Castellanos over the past two years, and it has resulted in two straight losing seasons.

The dilemma that the fan base is facing is if Florida State needs to develop the homegrown talent that they have recruited. Former four-star prospect quarterback Kevin Sperry has become a name that individuals hope answers their issues.

However, that is a ton of pressure on the redshirt freshman's shoulders. Quarterbacks such as Jameis Winston and Deondre Francois have delivered in the second year of an offense, but other than Jordan Travis, there hasn't been a quarterback that has won consistently in Tallahassee under Coach Norvell.

We already discussed in a recent piece that Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby could be the answer to get the Seminoles to Charlotte. However, we realize that it is high expectations for a coaching staff that has underperformed during their tenure in Tallahassee.

As it relates to other transfer portal quarterbacks, the Seminole fan base has seen the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes become successful with options such as Cam Ward and Carson Beck. This isn't an opportunity for myself to boast about Miami since they still haven't won the conference but they are in the College Football Playoff.

It just goes to show what a transfer quarterback can do for a program. The Hurricanes will be in the market for another transfer signal-caller this offseason, and one name to monitor for Miami is Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt.

On3's Pete Nakos reported that a school such as Miami could be in consideration to land Leavitt. According to ESPN Stats and Information, the signal-caller has recorded 44 total touchdowns in two seasons with the Sun Devils. It could have been even better if he didn't get injured this season.

Overall, Miami has been on a successful roll with transfer quarterbacks. Given that head football coach Mario Cristobal isn't the best in-game manager, the Hurricanes are doing a nice job with surrounding him with talent where it would be difficult for him to mess it up.
