Florida State's recruiting class is still a work in progress. They still rank lower than the fan base wants, as it is considered the 60th-best recruiting class in the country according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

This is the reality that Florida State faces with its recent struggles. However, good news looks to be on the horizon with commitment dates from four-star safety Ta'Shawn Poole, four-star defensive lineman Sam LeJeune, three-star running back Marquis Fennell, three-star wide receiver Majay Thompson, and three-star defensive lineman Jason Lewis coming up.

With that said, it feels like the fan base has given up hope, where they get all excited for recruiting in the summer, then the Seminoles come down to Earth during the season and start de-committing.

This reminds me of the 2021 offseason going into the 2022 season, when the fan base felt down about the direction the program was heading. The 2021 squad went 5-7 with a historic loss to FCS opponent Jacksonville State. The 2022 version was not a great team on paper, as advertised. Plus, fans were ready to let head coach Mike Novell go, but that squad finished with a 9-3 regular season and a bowl win over Oklahoma to get to double-digit wins, which set the foundation for 2023.

This isn't to say that the Seminoles have a Jordan Travis under center, but the doubters seem to resemble those from that season.

Florida State, Mike Norvell is fighting to keep positive momentum with defensive back commit Jemari Foreman going to Louisville

Florida State secured the commitment of three-star defensive back Jemari Foreman from Cypress Bay High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a few days after the Seminoles defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide in the opener last year.

Some fans might think this is just a three-star prospect, but when he was at Plantation High School, he recorded 10 interceptions last year. This should be someone that Florida State locks down in his recruitment this weekend.

The problem standing in Florida State's way is Louisville, which he officially visited earlier this month. According to a report from 247Sports' Tom Loy, the Seminoles and Cardinals are battling for his services. The good news is that there will be only two official visitors this weekend: Foreman and three-star defensive end Stevan Thornton III.

This is a great thing for Florida State because safeties coach Evan Cooper can work with him individually, and they can prioritize him. It is great to have multiple visitors on campus, but sometimes those prospects don't get as much attention as they need and end up going elsewhere.

Louisville has been a more consistent program than Florida State, but obviously, the tradition with the Seminoles has been better. Hopefully, Florida State can tap into the love that Foreman had when he committed to the Seminoles in September of last year.
