LOCKED IN
Florida State football's coaching staff decided to have all of its defensive back commitments in town this weekend for their official visits. Four-star Darryl "Tre" Bell III, four-star Tedarius Hughes, and three-star Sean Johnson are the committed prospects.
The official visit was enough for the three-star defensive back Sean Johnson as he announced on social media that he has locked down his recruitment.

THOUGHTS ON THE SITUATION
This is the nature of college football recruiting. It is all over the place. We have committed prospects visiting other institutions, and have fans questioning what the word "commitment" really means.
Fans are having to deal with four-star linebacker commitment Karon Maycock making his final decision next month. I am a huge fan of Maycock's skill set, but it is a headache for the coaching staff to have to deal with another decision with him already being committed to Florida State.
I thought Miami would have been in the decision for Maycock, but it doesn't seem like they will be. Nonetheless, when it comes to Johnson, it is encouraging to see Coach Surtain and Coach Cooper lock down a talented recruit like Sean Johnson.
The coaching staff already saw four-star Darryon Williams from Plant High School in Tampa, Florida, lock down his recruitment with the Seminoles. This was someone who was considering the arch-rival Florida Gators. If Williams had flipped to the Gators, it would have sent the Seminoles' fan base into a frenzy.
I know that the fan base is worried about the long-term health of high school recruiting under head football coach Mike Norvell, but one position group that I believe is thriving in that department is defensive back under the recruiting prowess of Patrick Surtain Sr. and Evan Cooper.
