The Florida State coaching staff had a shot to make some noise in the recruiting game with their 3-0 start and big upset win over Alabama to start the season. However, after three consecutive losses, the buzz they had on the recruiting trail has died considerably, and any chance to flip a difference-maker at a key position like defensive end is zero.

It appears that FSU will have to settle for players who require significant development, unless they can catch fire and finish the season on a high note.

They had former Georgia Tech commit Chris Carbin on campus for an official visit during the Pittsburgh game. They will have three-star Damaad Lewis taking his official visit for the Wake Forest game. Carbin and Lewis need less physical development, coming in at 240+ pounds.

Longtime target and Syracuse commit Kamron Wilson visited for the Miami game and will take an official visit for the Virginia Tech game. The three-star recruit will need to add some size before he becomes a contributor anywhere, checking in at 210 pounds.

Another target has emerged with USF commit Jaemin Pinckney. Pinckney is another guy who’ll need to add weight as he checks in at 217 pounds. Both Wilson and Pinckney have excellent length. He’ll take an official visit to FSU for the Virginia Tech game.

Another target is JUCO defensive end Josh Warren Jr. He’ll take an official visit to FSU for the Virginia Tech game. He is 6’3” and 230 pounds with offers from mostly smaller schools, but is originally from Tampa, Florida.

FSU doesn’t have any defensive end commitments for its 2026 class, yet. Hopefully, that’ll change over the next two months.
