Former FSU football quarterback Jameis Winston has always had a unique personality and sense of humor. That personality followed him to the NFL, where he became the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2015.

Winston doesn't take himself too seriously and isn't afraid to make fun of past experiences. Often, Winston has been misunderstood or falsely accused of things, like when people said he stole some crab legs from a local grocery store in Tallahassee while he was a player for the Noles. Winston explains the incident below and has never shied away from it:

We all know someone who has done this if you've never done it yourself. Popular athletes getting "The Hookup" from friends is as old as time, and it didn't stop the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from selecting Winston with the No. 1 overall pick.

Winston has used his personality to make light of the situation and found ways to promote things. The latest is The Fulton Fish Market in New York City.

It's a brilliant marketing strategy because Winston knows there's a segment of people who continue to dislike him from his time at FSU. You either love him or hate him, and that's what matters in marketing. Look at the quotes and comments on the post.

I can only imagine the marketing deal Winston could have gotten while he was at FSU if NIL was available. He likely is one of the few players in college where folks would get a legit ROI by using him as a spokesman.

Some folks hate to hate, and it's probably why he's one of the most disrespected Heisman Trophy winners of all time. b don't see how folks can't like the guy.
