Florida State junior shortstop Isa Torres had a career night and nearly beat Coastal Carolina by herself in a 20-8 win Friday night. The game was much closer, as FSU found itself in an early deficit and tied 8-8 in the sixth inning.

However, the Noles exploded for 12 runs over the final two innings to secure the win. Isa Torres set a single-game record with six hits. She went 6-6 with a double and four RBI, and also scored three runs. She became only the third Nole to have five hits in a game and broke the record with her double in the seventh inning.

Kennedy Harp continues her torrid pace, going 3-6 with a home run and three RBI. Jaysoni Beachum went 2-5 with four RBI, and Madi Frey went 2-2 with her first career home run and two RBI. Bella Ruggerio went 4-4 with a double and two RBI.

Isa Torres is already one of the FSU players in FSU history and has another season and a half to go

FSU has 22 hits (a new school record) and six walks in the game. Freshman pitcher Bella Dimitrijevic got rocked in her start, only getting through one inning, allowing six earned runs on two walks and one strikeout. Ashtyn Danley got the win, going 5.2 innings, allowing two earned runs, no walks, and two strikeouts.

The FSU offense looks like it has become what we thought was possible once Kennedy Harp and Isa Torres were coupled with Jaysoni Beachum at the top of the lineup. Freshman Marin Heller continues to rake at the plate as well.

It is concerning that Dimitrijevic got hit so hard, but hopefully, it was just an off night. The Noles will return to action against Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 1 p.m.
