Florida State's 2027 recruiting class isn't where the fan base wants it to be, where they rank outside the top 50 in the 247Sports Composite rankings. This coaching staff understands that it needs to get better, but they also know that they have plenty of time before the Early Signing Period.
The fan base shouldn't panic about the ranking because the official visit season just got underway. We already saw three-star defensive lineman Eric Vaulx Jr. commit to the program after the last official visit weekend. Plus, four-star running back target Jayden Miles (who also visited last weekend) has been projected to commit to Florida State.
This should give encouragement to the fan base, as the Seminoles have nine prospects visiting campus this upcoming weekend, and three-star quarterback commit Logan Flaherty will be in attendance and leading the charge. If Florida State could only land one commitment from this weekend's official visits, the choice would be obvious.
Four-star wide receiver target Sean Green should be the obvious choice for commit watch for Florida State
There are plenty of talented recruits coming on campus, but one particular prospect is making the trip this weekend. Four-star wide receiver target Sean Green from Kingsland, Georgia, has been someone that quarterback commit Logan Flaherty has set his sights on.
Flaherty spoke with the media last week, and he was asked which recruits he was putting his recruiting hat on for the offensive side of the football. He mentioned two recruits: four-star running back Jayden Miles and four-star wide receiver Sean Green.
Miles is leaning toward Florida State, according to Rivals' Sam Spiegelman, and Green seems to be choosing between the Seminoles and the Georgia Bulldogs. The pass catcher just officially visited Georgia this past weekend and potentially will take a trip to Virginia for a trip. As a result, the coaching staff needs to lock down Green's pledge to Florida State.
Even though Florida State landed six wide receiver prospects in last year's class, it would be nice to add a top 200 prospect to their 2027 class. It would also give Logan Flaherty someone to throw to for the future when he suits up in the Garnet and Gold.
