Florida State's 2027 recruiting class ranks as the 50th-best in the 247Sports Composite rankings. This is not acceptable for the Seminoles, which is a program that expects to compete for championships. However, Florida State has had six losing seasons in eight years and needs to find sustainability.
The Seminoles are reeling after losing their top commit, four-star defensive back Mekhi Williams. This was not something that the fan base wanted to see after there has been so much negativity surrounding Florida State and the job security of head coach Mike Norvell.
With that said, there is a bit of positivity where Florida State has its quarterback in the fold with three-star Logan Flaherty from Port Charlotte, Florida. He had 38 total touchdowns during his junior season and looks to be a serious candidate to elevate himself to a four-star prospect.
Logan Flaherty should focus on landing four-star wide receiver Sean Green this weekend
Logan Flaherty should be a spark to the Seminoles' recruiting effort as a leader in the class, but he has his work cut out for him. Florida State currently doesn't have any wide receivers committed in the class.
While that isn't too concerning since Florida State's coaching staff is being selective with grabbing six of them in the 2026 cycle, the negative news of four-star Jabari Watkins not officially visiting the Seminoles anymore was a buzz kill.
This puts plenty of pressure on Florida State to land four-star Sean Green, four-star Cam Wade, and even four-star Ethan Kimmie. Assistant coach Tim Harris Jr. is an excellent recruiter and has plenty to sell to recruits with the play of Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, Devin Carter, Jasen Lopez, and Jayvan Boggs this season.
Sean Green should be Logan Flaherty's number one priority this weekend. He will be taking his visit after the trip with the Georgia Bulldogs last weekend. Georgia and Florida State were his top two schools in his recruitment, and now Virginia is getting involved, with him potentially going there on June 11th. It is time for the Seminoles to shut the recruitment down and get him to commit to Florida State.
