Florida State wants to make a splash in its 2027 recruiting class. Right now, the splash is equivalent to dropping a penny into an ocean. This is where we are with high school recruiting. They don't want to be given false hope anymore. They just want success.
The landscape of college football is unforgiving nowadays, with schools such as Texas Tech and Miami getting into bidding wars for resources. However, the Seminoles have to realize that they need to keep up with the times before they get passed over.
It seems like Florida State has already reached that point, as Florida State is currently ranked as the 50th-best recruiting class in the 2027 cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. If you haven't figured it out yet, that is not good.
Florida State is hoping that this weekend of official visitors can change the narrative of recruiting with Logan Flaherty visiting
The Seminoles have combined to have a 7-17 record over the past two years, and it is difficult to sell a vision when head coach Mike Norvell is on the hot seat and even the boosters apparently don't invest in the program like people think, according to the anonymous report from Athlon.
It can all change this weekend, as three-star quarterback commit Logan Flaherty will be officially visiting Florida State. Signal-callers are supposed to be the leaders of the class, and Flaherty's parents graduated from Florida State, so Garnet and Gold is in his blood.
UPDATE: Class of 2027 three-star quarterback commit Logan Flaherty will be officially visiting Florida State this upcoming weekend.

Flaherty has quite a bit of work to do, as the Seminoles have no running backs, wide receivers, or offensive linemen committed to Florida State's class. The big-time need would be four-star pass catcher Sean Green, who they are battling with the home-state Georgia Bulldogs.
Even though Florida State added plenty of wide receivers in the 2026 cycle, the program always needs to continue stacking on talent at the position. Having Flaherty in town could sell the vision of building a connection with Green for the future of the program.
