Florida State football recruiting finally got off its cold streak with the commitment of three-star quarterback Logan Flaherty from Port Charlotte, Florida, on Tuesday afternoon. While some fans will complain about his three-star ranking, I personally value his skills as a passer and think he is rated lower than he should be.
Nonetheless, the Seminoles' recruiting efforts should pick up with a quarterback in the fold. The only offensive commitment that Florida State has other than Flaherty is three-star tight end Connor Winn. There needs to be work done there.
While Florida State had a tremendous haul in the 2026 recruiting class at wide receiver, including four-star prospects Devin Carter and Jasen Lopez, the Seminoles need to continue stacking talent. Assistant coach Tim Harris Jr. has continued to show why he is one of the best recruiters on staff.
With quarterback Logan Flaherty in the fold, let's break down three pass catchers to monitor for Florida State's recruiting class.
Four-star Cam Wade
Florida State is looking for its first commitment at the wide receiver position, and a likely candidate could be four-star Cam Wade, who was originally from Nashville, Tennessee, but has since transferred to Virginia. He unofficially visited the Seminoles last month, and plans to officially visit on June 12th before deciding on July 1st. Maryland, Alabama, and Auburn are involved, but Florida State looks to be the leader.
Four-star Sean Green
The Seminoles have to prioritize wide receivers in Georgia. Four-star Sean Green from Kingsland, Georgia, is someone that the coaching staff has on their radar. Green is the 16th-best prospect in the state of Georgia, and the home-state Georgia Bulldogs are going after him, too. The Bulldogs have an official visit on May 29th, while Florida State has one the next weekend on June 5th, plus Georgia Tech is hanging around. Overall, Green has visited the Seminoles twice this spring, so he should feel comfortable with potentially committing to Florida State.
Four-star Jabari Watkins
Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I wouldn't consider the recruitment over between Florida State and four-star wide receiver Jabari Watkins from Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, Georgia. Watkins announced that he would no longer be officially visiting the Seminoles and has a commitment scheduled for July 1st. He even named Florida State a top school at one point. The Seminoles had a similar situation happen with a teammate of his last year (Cam Brooks), where he committed to California and then eventually signed with Florida State. Stranger things have happened.
