Head coach Mike Norvell believes in what Florida State football could be in 2026

This looks like fools-gold right now for the fan base.

Florida State football has not seen much success over the past two seasons, where they have a combined 7-17 record. The Seminoles thought that it was heading in the right direction after defeating Alabama in the opener, but they decided to stumble to close the year.

It has been difficult for head football coach Mike Norvell to sell a vision to the fan base of sustainable success, but the $54 million buyout is looming in the distance, where some view Florida State as a pretender.

This offseason has made the fan base hesitant because of their lack of belief in Coach Norvell. It should be noted that he is capable of being successful like he was in 2022 and 2023, but will individuals see sustainable success again?

We know that Norvell had his biggest improvement when star quarterback Jordan Travis was under center. A great signal-caller helps the program move the needle on a national level. However, the last two years (DJ Uiagalelei and Thomas Castellanos) were not kind to the Seminoles in the transfer quarterback market.

Norvell spoke to Jordan and Devon Travis's podcast "Travis Take Two", where he discusses that Florida State knows what it looks like to be successful at this university.

It seems like Norvell went full preacher mode with the motivation speech. Unfortunately, actions have to speak louder than words. The administration gave him confidence that he would return for the 2026 season, but it shouldn't be an easy feeling for him, as Florida State has to win now.

Fans have been wanting to see the success happen over the past two seasons, and they have only seen Duke win the conference and Miami make the College Football Playoff. Something has to change, and change quickly.
