FSU softball signed another talented recruiting class a few weeks ago, and the ladies have been preparing for the 2026 season that opens on February 5th. FSU returns several familiar faces, and some key freshmen will likely play key roles for Coach Lonni Alameda this season.
The Noles have been bounced from the Super Regionals in each of the past two seasons. They lacked the pitching needed to get by Oklahoma in 2024, and the offense ran into arguably the best pitcher nationally in NiJaree Canady with Texas Tech.
The 2026 season could be where FSU puts it all together, as they’re ranked No. 6 in the Softball America Preseason Poll:

FSU returns two All-Americans in Isa Torres and Jaysoni Beachum. Kennedy Harp likely would have been on that list had her 2025 season not come to and due to injury. It’s unclear where she is in her recovery, but she’ll be a huge part of the offense if she’s healthy. The offense will likely need several freshmen to step up, much like these three did a few seasons ago. FSU signed several potent bats who could help fill the void. Players like Anna Hinde, Marin Heller, and Harlie Chism.

FSU returns a ton of experience and production in the circle. Ashtyn Danley and Jazzy Francik return, along with the addition of several freshmen like Bella Dimitrijevic and Marlee Gaskell.
There will likely be some growing pains early in the season as the freshmen find their footing, but I expect FSU to make another deep run in 2026.
