Nothing in set in stone, but he gives FSU the best chance to win.

Florida State ended the Stanford game with a loss and was without its starting quarterback, Thomas Castellanos. The dual-threat signal caller got hit late as he was sliding after a long scamper for extra yards and got knocked out of the game with an apparent upper-body injury.

FSU head coach Mike Norvell communicated that Castellanos likely would not have played if they had to play a game last week. However, the Noles were on a bye week, which allowed Thomas Castellanos more time to recuperate from his injuries.

Norvell mentioned that Castellanos was day-to-day on Monday, but communicated that he was trending in a positive direction. Norvell said, “I’m feeling very confident where it’s trending.”

Castellanos was already battling an ankle injury from the third game earlier in the season. He’s been playing at less than 100 percent, and it has affected his ability to create with his legs and extend plays.

Some folks have been asking to see freshman Kevin Sperry, who came in to replace Castellanos in the Stanford game. Sperry has potential, but the game seemed to move pretty fast as he came in for an unexpected appearance. However, he settled down and made some plays to put FSU in a position to tie the game.

He would at least give FSU a glimpse of the future if he were to play against Wake Forest on Saturday night. Would he give FSU the best chance to win? That’s probably still Castellanos, and maybe why that FSU betting line ticked up another point earlier today.

However, if Castellanos doesn't continue the positive trend, seeing Sperry play would offer some intrigue to watch the game.
