FSU QB Thomas Castellanos scares every FSU fan with his UF post-game comments

There is no way anyone at FSU can let this happen if he gets another year.

Florida finished its 2025 season with a 5-7 record, losing to several teams with inferior rosters. A myriad of factors contributed to the second consecutive losing season. FSU improved in some areas on offense and defense. There were games where the defense let the offense down, and games where the offense let the defense down.

For whatever reason, FSU couldn’t find a way to play complementary football. Despite the defensive woes, the FSU offense stalled WAY too much and failed to put up points in too many games.

FSU scored 13 points against Stanford, 10 against Clemson, 11 against NC State, and 14 against Florida(the last touchdown was in garbage time).

FSU could move the ball decently between the 20s, but struggled once they got in the red zone. A lot of that was because Thomas Castellanos has limitations as a quarterback. He holds the ball too long, is turnover-prone, is far too inaccurate, and fails to make the right reads in the running game.

I firmly believe the FSU offense would have been better if it had a better quarterback. I wrote about why FSU fans would have moments to get excited and moments they’d want to pull their hair out in the preseason. The games played out about how we thought with Castellanos at quarterback.

Fan Response

He has exhausted eligibility, but is appealing to have another year to play in college because of a rule change that took place regarding players appearing in bowl games counting against player eligibility.

Thomas Castellenos played hard and played hurt for FSU in 2025. I respect his toughness and willingness to put his body on the line, but FSU can’t get to where it needs to go with him at quarterback. He is what he is at this point and won’t improve as a passer.

We saw it this season: poor decisions, poor footwork that resulted in interceptions or incomplete passes. He’s not good enough as a runner to offset his liabilities as a passer. I don't think he'll get another year, but if so, there’s no way he can be allowed to suit up for FSU again.
