FSU football: Noles flip four-star Auburn commit Shamar Arnoux on Early Signing Day
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football needed some momentum on Early Signing Day after most of its 2025 recruiting class de-committed after a disastrous season. The Noles entered the day after getting two commitments on Tuesday, with the No. 38 ranked class nationally.
They only had two defensive backs committed and had needs to fill in the position, especially moving to a 3-3-5 defensive scheme with new defensive coordinator hire Tony White.
The Noles flipped and signed a player they had for an official visit over the summer, four-star defensive back Shamar Arnoux, who was an Auburn commit.
The Carrollton, Georgia, product ranks as the No. 383 player nationally, No. 37 cornerback, and No. 53 player in the Peach State. He held over 30+ offers from Miami, Georgia, and LSU, among others. He was a one-time USC commit before flipping to Auburn last month. However, FSU convinced the young man to sign with the Noles.
He is 6'2" and 175 pounds, which is the length and size preferred by defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain.
There were rumblings Arnoux could flip to the Noles over the past few days, and he didn't play any games on social media, just preferring to sign with FSU instead of drawing attention to himself. He was the third player to sign, and FSU expects to sign about 12-15 more players. Please make sure you stay locked into our Early Signing Day Tracker, which is updated in real-time. We'll provide a detailed piece on the signees once the day concludes.
