FSU football continues historic awful season, Mack Brown gets first win against FSU
By Kelvin Hunt
The historic awful season for FSU football continues with a 35-11 loss against North Carolina. The season of firsts happening continues as FSU alum Mack Brown finally got his first win against the Noles.
It's the second time this season an FSU team allowed something that had never happened to happen. The first was losing to the Duke Blue Devils a couple of weeks ago.
The FSU offense continues to set new lows. They completed one pass and had three points and 61 total yards in the first half. The field goal was the only bright spot, as Ryan Fitzgerald made a 56-yard kick with room to spare to give FSU a brief 3-0 lead.
North Carolina had 240 total yards in the first half and led 14-3, missing a 54-yard field goal at the end of the first half. North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton had four rushing touchdowns on 32 carries for 172 rushing yards. He also had three receptions for 93 yards and a receiving touchdown.
It was comical to see errors on both sides for FSU. The FSU offensive line couldn't block my 94-year-old grandma, allowing seven sacks and 10 tackles for a loss. FSU crossed the 200 total-yard mark with seven minutes to go, and has yet to surpass 300 total yards this season.
The FSU defense allowed a gazillion third down and long conversions, and North Carolina was 10 of 14 for the game. FSU played sloppily and had a ton of missed tackles. This team needs an entire reset after this season. They have no shot to beat Notre Dame next week, and I'm convinced the Charleston Southern game will be a dogfight. The offseason can't get here fast enough.
