Florida State football is not having the season that they wanted in 2024 where they are struggling to gain any type of positive momentum with a 1-7 record.

With the disappointments continuing to mount, the program will have to combat other schools such as arch-rival Miami Hurricanes (who the team lost by a score of 36-14) from taking commitments away from you.

The outlook looks gloomy as the Seminoles did not expect this to occur as they accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023. The fan base wants the program to focus more on recruiting high school prospects than transfers.

However, the issue is that you have to sell the product on the field for high schoolers to come in. If there will be coaching staff changes this offseason, what recruit would want to come into the situation if they don't know if their position coach will be there.

That is the dilemma that Florida State is facing. The Seminoles are currently ranked as the 47th-best recruiting class according to 247Sports Composite rankings. This could get even worse as Florida State continues to mount up losses.

When Florida State was having 10-3 and 13-1 seasons, it did not amount to having top-ten recruiting classes. However, rivals such as Miami and Florida were struggling on the field; it did not matter because they were still able to get talented prospects with ease.

Four-star offensive lineman commit Mario Nash Jr. and four-star running back commit Byron Louis are on campus today as the Seminoles take on North Carolina.

It will be more important that the Seminoles showcase a good product to keep them in the fold. These are two talented offensive pieces that could make Florida State's offense special in the future.

Nash Jr. has the Mississippi schools still contacting him, while Louis has Miami, Georgia, and Wisconsin reaching out to him. This will be a battle until the very end for these prospects if the Seminoles end up being 1-11 or 2-10 on the year.

Florida State needs to show some type of energy to close out the season for recruiting purposes.
