FSU had a bye week earlier in the season and lost two commitments after starting the season 0-3. Many fans joked that FSU couldn't even avoid a loss even when they didn't have a game. It's funny how folks say history repeats itself. FSU is on another bye week and suffered another de-commitment, this time from 2025 blue-chip wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon.

The Texas native announced he was flipping his commitment to the Texas Longhorns. It came as no surprise to me since FSU's offense is among the worst nationally. They're averaging 14.8 ppg and 4.52 yards per play. What wide receiver wants to come play in an offense like that? McCutcheon ranks as the No. 107 player nationally, and the No. 14 wide receiver.

The real question is how many of the 10 remaining commits will ultimately sign with FSU. It wouldn't shock me to see at least 3-4 of those players de-committing and going elsewhere after the 1-5 start for FSU. Mike Norvell and the staff offered a 2025 blue-chip UCF commit earlier Thursday, likely anticipating this move would happen.

To me, it's a sign this staff may know changes are on the way. Mike Norvell will have no choice but to fire most, if not all of the current staff to kill the current narratives opposing teams continue to use on the recruiting trail. In a weird way, losing these commitments could force his hand more than he wants, which ultimately is a good thing for the long term if he plans to remain the head coach. This de-commitment drops FSU to No. 52 nationally.
