FSU football fans have not had a lot to smile about or cheer for in the 2024 season. It was the longest offseason ever after getting snubbed by the College Football Playoff Committee and dealing with Mike Norvell potentially leaving for the Alabama job after winning the ACC for the first time in a decade. FSU brought several experienced players back at every level on both sides of the ball.

The coaching staff that went 23-4 over the past two seasons remained intact and FSU brought in some talented players from the transfer portal like they always do. The expectation was there wouldn't be much of a drop-off, likely going 10-2 at worst and competing for another ACC Title and a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff.

FSU began the season 0-3, losing as double-digit betting favorites in the first two games. They lost as a touchdown favorite against Mike Norvell's former team before finally getting their first and only win in the first six games. FSU has been relatively competitive in all six games, but the majority of the players expected to be contributors have not panned out. There's only a handful of players who have met or exceeded expectations. Here are my top five.
